Trancating fields on GL report

In a general ledger report, how can I truncate the memo-description field so it doesn't print the entire field on the GL?

The problem is causing a GL line to be shown as numerous lines just to fit in the entire memo/description. It is making the GL extremley cumbersome

Trancating fields on GL report

I'm happy to see you here in the Community, jt4610.

Let me help you truncate the Memo/Description field in the General Ledger report.

You have two options to do this. First, you can reduce the width of the Memo/Description column. Second, you can remove the Memo/Description column in the General Ledger report.

Let me show you how:

To resize the column's width:

  1. Click Reports on the left pane.
  2. Enter and select General Ledger report in the search box.
  3. Hover and drag the vertical line between Memo/Description and Split.
  4. Resize the field as desired.

To remove the Memo/Description column in the report:

  1. Click Reports on the left pane.
  2. Enter and select General Ledger report in the search box.
  3. Click the Customize button.
  4. Under Rows/Columns.
  5. Uncheck the Memo/Description checkbox.
  6. Click Run report.

You can also memorize this report by clicking the Save Customization button at the top.

The steps above should help you truncate the Memo/Description field on the GL report. You can reach out to me again if there's anything else you need help with. Have a great week.
