In QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), the option to create recurring invoices is currently unavailable. This is only available in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Each version of QuickBooks is designed to address specific business needs. To know the different QuickBooks products that can help you manage your business' account and transactions efficiently, I'd recommend checking out this article: See which version of QuickBooks is right for you.
I can see how having this option in QBSE would be helpful for you, and I'll take note of this. In the meantime, I recommend visiting our Blog site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features.
I'm also adding this article to know more about the invoice feature in QBSE: Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed. It also includes details about customizing the said sales form to include info that matters most to your business.
Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any other questions or concerns. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!
You should use QBO (not QBSE) to have the feature.

Another option, you may keep using QBSE but you need another app to send a recurring invoices.
