Trying to match transactions from by bank register to my qb register, sometimes the sales receipt is not there to choose. It is in the register. Why does it not show?

When I select Find match radio button, the transaction is not listed. I see it (unreconciled) in the Bank Register, but it doesn't all me to find it to match in the Review.

Thanks for bringing this concern to me, @usermarc.

I’m here to help and ensure you’ll be able to match your transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To isolate this, let’s make sure to post the sales receipt to the right bank account. It could be the account use to deposit the sales receipt is incorrect. Thus, it doesn’t show when finding a match in your register.

To verify, open the Sales Receipt and ensure to select the correct bank account from the Deposit to the drop-down menu. 1.JPG

However, if the account is correct and you’re still having the same issue, I recommend opening your QBO account via a private window (incognito). This way, we can see and check if this is a browser-related issue.

There are times that the browser is full of frequently-accessed pages. When this gets outdated it causes unusual behavior to the browser that affects your QBO performance. Using a private window doesn’t store any data. Thus, this helps us determine if this is a cache issue. To start, you can follow these keyboard shortcuts depending on what browser you’re using.

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

Once you’ve logged in via a private window, try matching your transactions and check if you’re able to see and match your sales receipt. If you're able to do so, then we’ll need to delete your browser's cache. This will remove all data cache from the browser and helps it to function efficiently.

If the issue persists, try using other supported browsers. That way, we can verify if this is a browser-integrated issue.

Furthermore, check out this article that can guide you accurately in reconciling your accounts in the future: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know by leaving a reply in this thread if there’s anything you need help with matching your transactions in QBO. Keeping you in working order is my top priority. Stay safe and have a great day!

Thank you for your prompt reply, Jasro.

  • The sales receipt has the same Deposit to checking account as the one I'm Reviewing
  • I've tried logging in to QBO with Chrome, Chrome Incognito and Edge and they all do not show the transaction.

I do this process the same way every time (at least I think I do) and usually it works.  This is like the third time it hasn't.  The other two times I have just Excluded the transaction from Review and manually Cleared it in the check register.  Most of my sales receipts are for $xxx.xx (e.g. $100) and the deposit is for $xxx.xx - $yy.yy for my Stripe bank card transfers.  I just choose the X sales receipt in my check register, toggle the Resolve Difference toggle and enter a resolving transaction for the Stripe commission to balance the transaction and Save and all is well!  Usually....

Thanks for your help.
