Unable to Access Vendors on Mac Desktop App for Quickbooks Online

Earlier this evening I was working on creating some bills and processing payments & checks for a few Vendors. In the process I was viewing one vendor (our Landlord) to get information from last months payment, in order to create a recurring Bill for our monthly rent. Somewhere in the process, I clicked on a link that took me into a "List" view for that Vendor that wasn't where I needed to be. So, I used the "back to all lists" link that was at the top of the page to exit out of the screen. I next hovered over the "Expenses" button in the left menu and tried to click on "Vendors" to go back into where I needed to be and create the recurring bill. But the Vendors button in the menu is now dead. I can click on the Expenses button and the page loads like it should, but there is no response from the Vendors button. If I try to click on even the Vendors tab at the top of the screen from inside the Expense Transactions page, I still get nothing. If I click on the "New Transaction" button dropdown arrow in the top right corner, none of the options take me away from the Expense Transactions page (Bill, Expense, Check, Purchase order, Vendor Credit).

I even tried to uninstall the Quickbooks desktop app from my MacBook and reinstalled it, but still nothing. If I go to the actual website for Quickbooks Online, I am able to access Vendors and process transactions normally. I seem to have a bug in my desktop app and can't find a way around it.

I am currently running the Quickbooks Desktop App for Mac Version 3.5.2-200 (3.5.2-200.200) and macOS Mojave Version 10.14.1 on a 2017 MacBook Pro.

Any help or advice for resolving this bug would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Re: Unable to Access Vendors on Mac Desktop App for Quickbooks Online

I appreciate you sharing the complete details of your concern, RoboSanLucas.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the QBO Mac app is one way to fix unusual behaviors in the program. Since the same thing happens after giving it a try, I'd recommend giving us a call. We'll check what's causing the issue and fix it for you.

You can get our contact number through these steps:

  1. Go to this website https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Select QuickBooks Online.
  3. Click the Running your business in QuickBooks topic.
  4. Click the Vendors sub-topic.
  5. Scroll down and click the Get Phone Number button.

You can always come back if you need anything else. I'll be here to help.
