Sales income

On the P&L income is reduced by expense, so if you buy the materials (Cost of sales expense) at the same price as the customer pays you for it, they will wash out on the P&L

Sorry I'm a newbie....do you mean Sales of Product Income?  Does that mean I need to record every purchase of concrete, rock and rebar in QB and tag it as Cost of Sales Expenses?

Thanks for your prompt response, @barrus-concrete.

Yes, it means that you need to tag it as Sales of Product Income when your customers pay you for it, as Rustler recommended.

Buying materials, it will be tagged as Cost of Sales Expenses/Cost of Goods Sold (expense account). All of these accounts will reflect in your Profit and Loss reports.

Also, you can check it with your accountant when you need help in assigning an account to a product/service.

You can check this video for more details about adding products and services in QuickBooks Online: Adding Products and Services, Customers, and Vendors Lists. It includes how to add, edit, and manage your customer list.

I'll be adding this article as your reference in tracking your inventory: Impacts of inventory tracking on balance sheet and profit & loss reports. It includes other inventory reports that should be run on an accrual basis.

Should you have more questions, I'll always lend you a hand. Keep me posted and have a great day!
