We are changing bookkeepers. The former bookkeeper used QB Desktop. The new person will use QB Online. How do we get the Desktop data to new person to upload to Online?

Ask the backup file (QBB) from your old bookkeeper. Then you or your new bookkeeper will restore it on the trial license of QB 2020.

Once you can restore it without any issue, you may migrate it to QBO.
