We want to change stored vendors classifications to sub accounts- for example if someone was "cost of goods sold"we want to make sub accounts of "food" and"Liquor"

Creating vendor sub-accounts are currently not available in QBO, jdemarco.

You can create a parent account in the Chart of Accounts and add the food and liquor as sub-accounts. Then, turn on the Pre-fill forms option in your Company Settings.

Here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon.
2. Under Your Company, select Account and Settings.
3. Go to the Advanced tab on the left panel.
4. Click the pencil icon in the Automation section.
5. Check the box for the Pre-fill forms with previously entered content.
6. Click Save and Done.

After following these steps, create a vendor's transaction and enter the sub account you've set up earlier. When you save it and create another transaction for the same vendor, the details will automatically display.
