What do I do with a customers declined sales receipt? I clicked cancel after I tried to charge the card. The receipt says transaction did not go through.

The status says paid (payment declined) do I delete it or just leave it and create a new sales receipt? or use it to try again?

Help has arrived, res@finisroadrvp. I’d be glad to help you fix this issue about a customers declined sales receipt.

 

First, you can void the transaction in QuickBooks Online so you can still have a record of it.

 

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Sales or Expenses menu.
  2. Find the transaction. In the Action column, select the dropdown ▼ and then select View/Edit to open the transaction.

  3. If you want to include the date and reason you’re voiding or deleting the transaction, enter that info in the Memo or Message section. Then select Save
  4. Select More in the footer. Then select Void.
  5. Select Yes to confirm.

 
Once done, you can now manually re-create the sales receipt. Just click this article, for reference: Create and send sales receipts in QuickBooks Online

Hello. There is no void option.  The list under More is: copy, refund, delete,transaction journal, and audit history.

Let's try voiding the transaction on an incognito window. It helps us eliminate possibilities of browser-related issues. You can use these keyboard keys to open one:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift N

 

If the Void option shows up, you can go back to a regular browser and clear its cache. A piled cache can also be the reason for some unexpected issues on the opened pages.

 

You also have the option to switch to a different browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari.
