Hi palacio4890. Due to the legality status of charging customers for credit card fees in many states, this feature isn't currently available in QuickBooks Online. If you want more info on taking and processing payments here are a few articles that may help:

If you would like to reduce the amount you are charged for processing transactions I also recommend using an ACH transfer since they cap at a $10 maximum per transaction. Here's our article on processing ACH transfers in QuickBooks Online. If you need anything else, just leave a reply below. I'll be happy to get back with you. Have a great day.

@palacio4890

As a workaround, ask any customer who wants to pay by credit card to utilize MP. You will get paid by check or bank transfer for free.

Hello, debbiewelch.

Yes, you're right. The option to automatically add the 3% credit card fee to your customer invoice is unavailable yet. As a workaround, you can create a non-inventory or service item for the credit card fee and manually add it to their invoice.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select Products and Services.
  2. At the upper-right, click New.
  3. Choose Non-inventory or Service as the item type.
  4. Enter a Name something like Convenience Fee.
  5. Select the correct Income account and then Save and close.

It is also a great idea for product improvement in the future to have this option available. I encourage you to submit your product suggestion. Our Product Development team will review your request and, if approved, they may consider including it in the next update. To do this, go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
