When entering invoices paid, I inadvertently put them under the account "sales" instead of "service". How can I change this?

I'll help you in changing it, docegw.

Are you referring to the category of the product or service that you sold in the invoice? If so, you follow the steps below in editing it:

  1. Select Sales from the sidebar menu.
  2. Click the Invoices tab.
  3. Select then click the appropriate invoice to open it.
  4. Change the PRODUCT/SERVICE.
  5. Click the Edit button, then make the necessary corrections.
  6. Hit Save and close when you're done, then select Yes to confirm the changes.

If you're referring to the income account of the product and services that you sell, you can follow these steps:

  1. Select Sales from the sidebar menu.
  2. Click the Product and Services tab.
  3. Select the product or services.
  4. Click the Edit link in the ACTION column.
  5. Select the correct account in the Income account drop-down menu.

Once done, these changes will be applied to all of your records including your reports.

If you need a report that lists all invoices that are due on a date range, you can refer to this article in customizing the Transaction Detail By Account report.
