When making a journal entry, the total for may debits and credits does not show at the bottom

Hi there,

Let's perform troubleshooting steps to get this sorted out. I suggest creating a sample company file, then making a journal entry from there. This way, we can check and see if this issue is within your company file. Let me show you how.

In your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT):

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select New Company
  3. Click Express Start
  4. Follow the onscreen steps to finish the setup.

Here's an article you can read for more details: Create a QuickBooks Desktop company file.

If there is no issue in creating a journal entry in your sample file, I suggest running the Verify and Rebuild Data tools. This will resolve minor data issues in your company file.

If the issue persists, let's perform a clean install. A clean install fixes any issues in your company file and helps it to function efficiently.
