When will QB add property management and loan manager features to qb online? we may have to go back to the desktop version as this is a major sticking point right now...

Property management companies have their own set of special needs when it comes to accounting, jared7.

The Desktop version might be able to cater all these, but QBO also have some alternatives. The same thing with the loan manager.

For Property management:

  • Set up each property/unit you manage as a Customer.
  • Use location to track the different property locations.
  • Use class to cater different types of services offered.
  • Use Category to organize your expenses and income.
  • Record income and expense manually or through a third party application.
  • Use the split function for multi-service vendors.

For Loan management:

  1. Create a liability account in the Chart of Accounts.
  2. Connect the account created through Online Banking.
  3. Creating a Journal Entry is commonly recommended to manage interest payments.

Also, you might want to consult your accountant to make sure everything will be recorded correctly. Lastly, I’ll make sure to let our developers know your interest of having these features. They’re the ones who review feature request and will decide for the application.

Right now, we don’t have any visibility as to when it’s going to be available. Though, you can check this blog to know the newest feature added in QBO: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/blog/

Me and my colleagues are always around here to help, so please don't hesitate to drop by again.

@jared7 ,

You may consider the solution provided by MikiD. If it is not suit you, consider to explore an add-on to integrate with QBO. Otherwise, converting back to QBD is your last resort.
