Where can i find\delete\edit a journal entry that i made?

Hello syb-hvac-corp,

There are many ways to locate a journal entry or other transactions you've created. You can:

  • Use the Search option
  • Run the Audit Log
  • Pull up the General Ledger, the Journal, or other reports.
  • Go to your Chart of Accounts

For the Search option, you can follow the steps in this article to find the journal entry: Search for transactions.

Meanwhile, the instructions are included in this article if you use the Audit Log: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

If you use any reports where the journal entry is associated, you can follow these steps:

  1. Click Reports on the left menu and pull up the report you think you can use.
  2. Click the Customize button and change the Report period.
  3. Go to the Filter section. Note that the filters may vary on every reports.
  4. You can filter it by Transaction Type, Account, Name, and etc..
  5. Click Run report.

If you go to your Chart of Accounts, you can click View register or Run report. Either way, it will help you find the journal entry.

Once you've located the journal entry, you can already edit it as much as you want. If this is already deleted and you want to recreate it, it'd be best to use the Audit Log to see the details. Then, reenter it by clicking + New > Journal entry.

Feel free to get back to us if you have additional questions on how to find your transactions. Have a great day!
