Where can I see the date when a customer was added and by which user ?

Welcome to the Community, @dana40. Let me help you run the report you need in QuickBooks Desktop.

Customer Contact List reports will show you the list of all customers. You can customize this report to add the Rep who created it and the start date.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports on the top menu.
  2. Click on List.
  3. Choose Customer or Vendor Contact List.
  4. Tap Customize Report.
  5. From the Display tab, select Rep and Start date.
  6. Click OK.

You can check this article as your reference to customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop: Customize reports in the QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have any questions or need clarification, you can leave a comment below. I will be here!

Thank you for your fast reply!

We are three users in QB Enterprise, each with his own log in, we do not have sales rep.

Each of us is crating customers, now we need to see which user created a customer and what date.

Kindly please advise !

Hey there, @dana40.

Unfortunately, at this time, the audit log doesn't track the information you're looking for.  I can completely understand why this would be an important piece of your business and keeping track of records for your team. Please know I'm sharing this with my development team for future improvements within the product.

Currently the Audit log is used to:

  • Assist in finding deleted transactions that may be causing discrepancies in opening balances and bank reconciliations.
  • Locate previous account names that may have been merged with new accounts.
  • Track user login times and activity.
  • Identify users who may require further training by noting an increase in their voided or modified transactions.
  • Help identify transactions that have been entered incorrectly or lost due to accidental deletion.
  • Keep informed as to who is accessing the books and what tasks they are performing.

I'm here if I can help with anything else. Just leave a comment below and I'll get back to you! Have a great day.
