Where do I find the "new" drop down when transferring money from account to account at same financial institution? Wish the help screen would let you know where to begin

For transferring funds between accounts at the same financial institution in QBO, the Transfer Funds feature is designed for transfers between different financial institutions. Since you're transferring funds between two accounts at the same financial institution, I recommend creating a Journal Entry.

Creating a journal entry for this kind of transfer offers greater flexibility for internal bookkeeping purposes. I suggest to consult with your accountant for guidance on proper debits and credits to use.

To create a journal entry in your QBO, here's how:

1. Go to the + New icon in the top-left corner of your QBO screen.
2. Under the Other section, select Journal Entry.
3. On the first line, choose an account from the Account field. Enter the amount in the correct column. Depending on if you need to debit or credit the account.
4. On the next line, select the other account you're moving money to or from. Depending on if you entered a debit or credit on the first line, enter the same amount in the opposite column.
5. Ensure the amounts of the Credit and Debit columns are balanced.
6. Enter information in the memo section if needed.
7. Select Save and new or Save and close.
