Why did QBO Intuit send 2018 1099s to my contractors instead of 2019?

I can help you sort this out, @jamie.

 

You may have selected an incorrect Tax year while preparing your contractors' 1099 form. Let's make sure to select 2019 in the Select a form type window.

 

Just a heads-up though, once you've e-filed your 1099 form, you can no longer make corrections on it. You'll have to make corrections in a printed copy and send it by mail to the IRS. For more detailed steps, you can check this article: Prepare and file 1099s using QuickBooks Online.

Thank you for your reply. The really odd thing about this is that the correct year was selected and I have PDF copies saved . Hopefully those are the copies that Will be mailed to my contractors. Sadly most of them are younger people who do most of their financial interactions online.

We'd like to investigate this since your contractors should be able to received the correct 1099 form for 2019. 

 

The Community page is a public forum and we are unable to access your account information here. I'd suggest contacting our Customer Care Team so one of our agents can take a look at the root cause of this unexpected result when preparing your contractors' 1099 form. Just provide your Company Id, Full name and the troubleshooting steps you've initially perform.

I appreciate your continued help. I did try to contact customer care but they were off until Monday by the time I heard about the problem. 
 
I’ll contact them first thing Monday.
 
Hopefully all will be resolved speedily!
