Why does Expensify show as a credit card for non-reimbursable expenses? Expenses are going through banking and showing as a cc, so expenses are showing double.

Employees have a company debit card. They upload receipts into Expensify and an expense report is created. QBO is showing Expensify as a credit card that needs to be reconciled. However, the transactions are already categorized through the banking. If I use the Expensify as a credit card also, we are doubling expenses. It is only showing the non-reimbursable expenses as a credit card transaction. We do not have an Expensify card, we use bank debit cards.

Welcome and thanks for posting in the Community, @e030699.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) will only depend on the transactions shared by Expensify. Since it is a third-party application integrated with QBO, I highly recommend contacting the Expensify support team. They're able to help map those transactions correctly.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Go to this link: https://apps.intuit.com/app/apps/home
  2. Enter Expensify in the Search address.
  3. Select Expensify.
  4. Choose Contact under the App information tab.

To learn more about reviewing downloaded bank and credit card transactions in QBO, consider checking out this article: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
