Why have I lost the ability to print email or save an invoice?

Hi @billbeckieperson,

Welcome to the Community. I'm here to lend a hand in determining why you've lost the ability to print, email, or save an invoice.

Just to confirm, are you missing the buttons to perform these tasks? If so, it could be that the page is being cut off, since these options are at the bottom of the invoice screen. I would recommend scrolling down the page or zooming out to see if they appear.

If these options should still not be present, it's generally good to try some browser troubleshooting. One step is to clear cache, which is stored to improve loading times, but too much can accumulate and impede processes. For additional information on this, including steps, please see the following link: Delete Or Disable Cache And Temporary Internet Files In Your Web Browser.

Should  you still be unable to perform these tasks, you may also wish to try an alternative browser. This can help to isolate the cause of unexpected behavior, such as missing or unresponsive buttons.

That's it. I believe that this will help you with resolving the inability to print, email, or save invoices.

Feel free to let me know how it goes, or if you need anything, by posting a comment below. Hoping this response finds you with a smile.

Why have I lost the ability to print email or save an invoice?

I have the buttons, but whenever I try to print, email, or save as a PDF, it causes my Quickbooks to freeze up. How can I fix this?

I have been dealing with the same issue since last Wednesday! I've tried just about everything and nothing has worked.

Hello, @northstarplumbing and @ScottPeterson.

Let's sort this out so both of you can get back to business.

Try to check if you have your Adobe reader or PDF viewer updated to the latest release version. Then, set it up as the default application to open PDF documents.

Here’s how to have the updated version:

  1. Open your Adobe Reader on a separate window and click Help.
  2. Select Adobe Reader.
  3. Go to the Adobe Reader Downloads page. The web page automatically detects your OS and Reader version.
  4. Choose Install Now.
  5. Open the downloaded file and follow the rest of the on-screen instruction to finish the updating process.

Once done, set it up as a default application to open PDF documents:

  1. Go to your PC’s Start menu and find your Settings.
  2. Choose System and then Default apps.
  3. Click Choose default apps by file type.
  4. Scroll to find .pdf.
  5. Click Choose as default and choose Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat.

Let me know if there's anything that I can help with your invoices. I'm always here to assist. Keep safe and have a great rest of the day!

Not sure if you got it fixed yet but I thought I would share for you or anyone else who is trying to fix this issue. Finally got an invoice to print and save as a pdf today after removing the logo from the invoice. Worth a try for anyone experiencing this issue.
