Why isn't the Statement of Financial Position not breaking out assets by fund, and instead categorizing them all as "Not Specified, " (transactions do have a class)?

For example, each bank deposit shows a specific fund on the transaction, yet the Financial Position report places them all in the "not specified" column. "Class" is toggled on.

I understand the importance of having your assets accurately categorized by class, Karen. Let me help you explore alternative ways to view this information in your financial report.

Please know that classes will appear in the report if the category chosen in the Add funds to this deposit section is a Balance Sheet or Statement of Financial Position account, such as the assets, liabilities, and equity. Otherwise, it will show as "Not Specified".

If you have verified that the correct class is assigned and the issue persists, I recommend running an alternative report, such as the Transaction Detail by Account. This report can be customized to display the account where the deposit should be recorded, along with the assigned class, providing you with clearer insights. To do that, here's how:

  1. Navigate to Reports, then Standard reports.
  2. Enter Transaction Detail by Account in the search field.
  3. Click the Customize button.
  4. In the Rows/Columns section, hover over and select Change Columns.
  5. Tick the boxes for Account and Class.

  6. Optionally, Filter the report by Customer or Class to show only the data you need.
  7. Once you've made your selections, press Run Report.

You can also save the current report settings so you won’t have to go through the customization process again if you need the same information in the future.
