Does this happen to all of your customers? If no, it's possible that the invoice was sent twice to some of your customers. In this case, you can ask them to disregard the duplicate invoice.

 

However, if all of your customers are receiving the invoice twice, I suggest performing some basic troubleshooting steps to check if it's the browser that's causing this behavior.

 

Let's start by accessing your account through a private browser or incognito window. This is a good place to start the troubleshoot since this type of browser doesn't store cache.

 

You can refer to the following keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Try sending an invoice to your email to test it. If it works, go back to your original browser and clear the cache to make sure your browser functions more efficiently. Otherwise, you can try other supported browser to help narrow down the cause of this behavior.

Let's resolve the error you're having with your invoices, @PAT0511

 

There may be some minor data issues with your company file that's why your invoices are sent twice. Try running the Rebuild and Verify Utility tool to fix possible data damage on your company file.

 

Please follow the steps below:

 

  1. Open your company file again.
  2. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities and choose Rebuild Data.
  3. Click OK in the QuickBooks Information window.
  4. Wait until the repair is done. Then, click OK.
  5. Then, go back to the File menu and select Utilities and choose Verify Data.
  6. Click OK if QuickBooks doesn't find any problems. Or Rebuild Now if it finds issues with your company file.

 

If you still get the same issue, let's try running the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix common issues. 

 

  1. Open your QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Select Company File Issues.
  3. Click Quick Fix my File.
  4. Choose OK when it completes and launch your QuickBooks.

I am on QB online, and every time I send an invoice or receipt it sends 2 copies.  I tried clearing the cache and it did not help.

I use Enterprise desktop and this happens to me.  Every single invoice or statement I send out goes twice to every email; whether the customer has one email or bcc or cc - all email addresses get multiple copies at the same time.  Our email goes through outlook and will open one email and still send twice.

It's rather embarrassing actually, seems and looks so unprofessional.

It's good to update your company file to ensure that you have the latest fixes and improvements, which might resolve any existing issues, including the ones with duplicate invoices. If you haven't performed it yet, you can follow the steps below:

 

  1. Go to Help and choose Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Tap Update Now, then Get Updates.
  3. Close and reopen QuickBooks to install the update again.

 

Second, you can use the Verify Data tool to identify common errors in your company file. Then, utilize the Rebuild Data tool to correct these issues and ensure everything works well.

 

Before you proceed, make sure to create a backup copy of your company file before performing the Verify and Rebuild process to allow you to save and recover data in your company file.

 

Furthermore, here's how to perform them:

 

  1. On the top menu, click File.
  2. Pick Utilities.

  6. Choose Close or View Errors and take note of the specific error message.

Thank.  My quickbooks is up to date.  All updates have been run.  This is an ongoing problem, for years.

First, download and install the latest version of QuickBooks Tool Hub on your computer. Then, follow these steps to run the program:

 

1. Open QuickBooks Tool Hub and click on Program Problems.

2. Select Quick Fix my Program.

3. Launch QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

 

Alternatively, you can choose Company File Issues in the hub and run either Quick Fix my File or QuickBooks File Doctor to resolve common program issues.
