Year to date budget vs actual report

In QBPremier2019 for Non-profits I cannot find a way to create a YTD budget vs actual report.  In QBPro 2017 this was no problem.  Am I missing something?  I've tried customizing the Budget vs Actual report, but the best I can come up with is a very wide report listing columns month by month.  In QBPro 2017 I was able to create a report that had columns for 'actual ytd', 'budget ytd', '$ over budget', and  '% of budget'.  That's what I'm trying to duplicate in QB2019.

The process of pulling up the report and customizing it is the same for both QuickBooks 2017 and 2019. Since the columns mentioned above are not showing, let’s update the software first and then run the Verify Data and Rebuild Data Utilities.

To download the latest release, follow these steps:

  1. In your company file, go to the Help menu to see the Update QuickBooks Desktop menu.
  2. On the Update QuickBooks page, choose the Update Now tab.
  3. Mark each box to remove the previous download, then select Reset Update.
  4. Next, hit the Get Updates tab.
  5. Click on the OK button to continue.

Once completed, restart QuickBooks and then install the new release. If the issue persists, run the Rebuild Data Utility tool.

Here's how:

  1. Select File located at the top menu bar and choose the Utilities tab.
  2. Pick Rebuild Data and click on OK to close all windows open in QuickBooks.
  3. Backup the company data to avoid accidental loss.
  4. Click on OK when you get the message Rebuild has completed and proceed to the next step.

To verify:

  1. Go back again to the Utilities tab and select Verify Data.
  2. If you receive the following message QuickBooks detected no problem with your data, choose OK and continue using the company file.
  3. When the tool found some error, you’ll be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors.
  4. Choose Rebuild Now

Perform this process up to three times if errors are showing up. Here's an article with additional information on how to Resolve data damage on your company file.

These steps will help you get back on track. If you have any questions or concerns about QuickBooks, leave me a comment below. I’ll be right here to assist further.
