You've reached the right place for help, billyd.
Adding the Purchase Order feature in the Mac App is a creative idea. I can see it having a lot of use. I encourage you submit this idea to our Product Development Team for consideration in a future update. Just click the Gear icon in the top right hand corner and select Feedback.
Alternatively, can log into your account using the browser and create a purchase order from there.
If you're trying to enable the feature, I have an article that will guide through the steps: Purchase orders
If there's anything else I can help you find in QuickBooks, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'm here anytime to help.
Hello sanjay1, JasonV.
Thank you for sharing your feedback about creating a purchase order through the app. I want to share what I know about the QuickBooks Online app.
Since you can only create a purchase order through the web browser and Desktop app, I encourage you to send feedback. Our product development team perform updates depending on what works best for your business.
You can send your feedback by selecting the Gear icon in the upper-right corner and clicking the Feedback option. You can also visit the article below for more information about the list of available features for the mobile app:

Hi there, @lydbids.
We value all the suggestions and feedback from our customers.
I'll help you pass along your feedback to our developers. You can visit the Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online website to post your request. I'll do the same on my end for the request to get more votes.
And of course, I’m here to help you if you have other concerns. Don't hesitate to add a comment below.
Any update to adding purchase orders to the online app? Honestly that this wasn’t thought of is a huge oversight on quickbooks part. And please don’t reply saying I can do it on the desktop app or web browser. I already know how to do it that way. I wouldn’t be asking about a mobile app purchase order option if I wasn’t needing to make purchase orders easily on the go. I just had to make one on my phone and it took me 30 minutes vs less than 3 on my computer.
Welcome and thanks for joining this conversation, @miller1auto.
I appreciate you taking time sharing your thoughts about adding a purchase order in QuickBooks mobile apps. I'm here to help get this taken care of.
This is the feature that is being worked on by our Product Developers at this time. While we don't have an exact time frame yet, rest assured that I'm making it my top priority that your suggestion reaches them.
In the meantime, you can continue creating a purchase order using your desktop app or the web browser as a workaround.
Thanks for your understanding and patience. Please post again should you have any other concerns or questions. I'm always here to answer them. Take care and have a great rest of the day.
I know how important this feature is for business owners that are always on the go like you, Noifsnobutts.
For now, we can only create purchase orders through the QBO desktop app and browsers (mobile and desktop). My colleagues have already submitted requests for it to be added to the mobile app. We'll let you know once the feature is rolled out.

Any timeline on this getting done , it is very important that this gets done and it seems you have been trying to get it done for over a year now , it can't take that long with the amount of money you are taking in from the customers that are asking for this to be available.
We already took note of this feature request, @Docrob18.
Creating your purchase orders on your mobile app helps your vendors accept it quickly. Your feedback is valuable to us. However, we don't have a specific timeline as to when it will be available. Rest assured this request is already added on the evaluation list to consider it for future updates.
As an alternative, here are the two options to record your purchase orders:
I'd suggest checking out this website: QuickBooks Online Blog. You'll learn more about our product improvements in this link.
You can also visit this resource hub: Mobile Applications Hub. It contains topics about installing the mobile app, fixing login issues, running reports, and updating your billing information.
I'm just a comment away if there's anything else you need. Take care always, @Docrob18.
They want you to 'Digital Purchase Order' and pay $19 to $79 per month for something that should be basic functionality already built into the mobile app. Just search on 'quickbooks mobile purchase order and you'll see it in the Intuit app store.
Ha so we recommend it and suggest, quite rightly that it is a basic need that should have been included, then you take 2 years to develop it and then want to charge extra for it! Unreal! I’m going to share this and make it my mission to let the business community that this is your approach. I’m leaving quickbooks after 15 years!
