Learn how WooCommerce works with QuickBooks Commerce

Learn how WooCommerce products appear when you sync or import them to QuickBooks Commerce. 

Important:
Before you sync WooCommerce with QuickBooks Commerce:
  • Create a backup of your file and disconnect from the plug-in.
  • Set up authentic SSL on your web browser.
  • Make sure your WooCommerce products or variants have SKUs.
  • Don’t manually update the product type in WooCommerce. For example, don’t change the product type from Simple to Variable and vice versa.

How WooCommerce products syncs to QuickBooks Commerce

  • A Simple product in WooCommerce imports to QuickBooks Commerce as a product with a single variant.
  • A Variable product in WooCommerce imports to QuickBooks Commerce as a single product with multiple variants.
  • Product types in WooCommerce which sync to QuickBooks Commerce: Simple, Variable, Subscription, and Variable-subscription.
  • Product types in WooCommerce that don’t sync to QuickBooks Commerce: External/Affiliate, and Grouped.
  • QuickBooks Commerce only syncs the first three attributes of any product from WooCommerce.

What happens when you publish variants from QuickBooks Commerce

  • When you publish a single variant in QuickBooks Commerce, it creates a Simple product in WooCommerce.
  • When you publish another variant of the same product in QuickBooks Commerce, it converts the WooCommerce Simple product to a Variable product.

What happens when you sync WooCommerce with QuickBooks Commerce

What happens to images

  • When you create a product in QuickBooks Commerce, only the product’s primary or default image syncs with WooCommerce. If you need to add, update, or delete images, you can do them in WooCommerce instead.
  • If you make changes to your product’s images in QuickBooks Commerce or WooCommerce, the changes won’t sync.

What happens when you delete a product

  • When you delete a product in QuickBooks Commerce, WooCommerce also deletes the product.
  • When you delete a product in WooCommerce, it unlinks the QuickBooks Commerce product. The product is still active in QuickBooks Commerce.

What happens when you create a new relationship

  • When you create a relationship in WooCommerce, QuickBooks Commerce also creates a relationship.
