Overview

This article will assist you in your local Colorado tax setup.

Note: Contact the local tax agency to get more information and to determine if you need local employer identification number for your company.

Employee and company local tax setup

Intuit Online Payroll Enhanced/Intuit Online Payroll for Accountants

  1. Click Employees > employee's name.
  2. Click Edit in the Taxes & Exemptions section.
  3. In the Local section, select all local tax option.
  4. All available local taxes must be selected.
  • Our system will run the local taxes through our tax engine and accurately withhold the correct ones. Any wage thresholds, minimum and maximum tax amounts, rates, and city/county caveats are automatically handled by our system. (For example, when you select both a resident and work location tax, our system will properly withhold only the work location tax.)
  • 501(c)3 churches and non-profit organizations are exempt from CO - Denver Er, Denver County employer local tax. Only select CO - Denver, Denver County as the employee is not exempt.
