Common questions about applying to use payments or payroll services

Get answers to common questions about applying to use payments or payroll services in QuickBooks.

When you sign up for payroll or payments, sometimes we need to reach out to verify some more of your info.

Federal regulations require us to verify the identity of the principal officer and the business when you use our payments and payroll services. See our merchant agreements for Payments and Payroll for more technical details.

Here are answers to common questions about this process.

What do I need to do?

  1. Review the email you receive from QuickBooks (qbo@intuit.com) about your application.
  2. Gather the requested documents. If you have paper copies, you can take photos of them with your phone. Make sure they’re high-quality and clear enough to read.
  3. Use the link in the email to upload your documents.
Important: Please upload the requested info as soon as possible to prevent your application from being canceled or declined.

What types of info do you request?

The info we request varies with each case. Here are some things we may ask for:

  • Identity verification
  • Info on your company business model
  • Non-profit info
  • Financial statements

How long will the review take?

Once we receive the info or documents, we’ll review your case within 2 business days. We’ll send you an email with our decision as soon as it’s complete.
