Join nowMy company has been on a ongoing up/down spiral for three years. I have to work contracts myself and work as the administrator, coordinator, recruiter, plus boss and have to work assignments. I'm at a love hate relationship with my business. I would just like a few pointers on what I'm doing wrong and how I can make it work.
Hey @Nolan28 - welcome to QB Community, and thanks so much for sharing this. As a small business owner you are NOT alone in juggling too many hats!
I'd love to hear a bit more about your staffing agency and its ups and downs. How's business so far in terms of contracts and clients? How many employees do you have, and how effectively are they sharing the load? What do you think is the single biggest roadblock facing your business right now?
Hi Emily thank you for inviting me to the community discussion, Truly appreciate: as far as my business it's still a struggle, as of now I'm looking for a business coach. I have one employee including myself. I have five clients but I can only focus on one that I'm barley managing. A lot have to do with money, the money that I make I'm using it on regular daily expenses plus business and I'm not meeting quarterly marks.
@Nolan28, you've definitely come to the right place! It just so happens that QB Community's in- house business coach, @Anonymous, will be hosting her weekly live office hours TODAY at 11 AM Pacific time. Just head over to our Momentum to $1 Million group and click the green Join button to participate - I'll send out a reminder :smileyhappy:
@Nolan28, this is a solvable problem!! Great to meet you and let’s start moving you forward ASAP! I am going to start Office Hours a little early today because I’ll be in flight at 11a, so I’ll tag you on the thread shortly to get us started. Stand by! J.

Thank you Julie, truly appreciate the invite.
Wow- we have a ton in common. I have great input on the same thoughts. would love to speak to you & help you & myself by hearing my thoughts come back to me from you (that happened in your message). Let me know if you're comfortable sharing emails or numbers in this system- I've never used it!
Claire,
I truly would love that, it feels good to know I'm not the only one in the struggle boat. My email is [email address removed]. You can email me anytime, I'm actually on my way out soon to work one of my contracts.
Hey @Claire11 - welcome to QB Community! Thanks for jumping in and sharing your perspective :smileyhappy:
I LOVE that you and @Nolan28 are connecting here. Please note, though, that sharing personal details such as email addresses and phone numbers is never recommended in a public forum. If you do decide to share personal info with another QB Community member (to organize a local meetup in your area, say). your best bet is to send that member a private message.
@Claire11 I hope you'll tell us more about you and your business. What aspects of @Nolan28's post most resonated with you?
Got it- we aren't supposed to post our emails or phones... then how would we exchange them since you recommended we share the information via a private message??
In answer to your question- seems obvious to me that what resonates for all of us here is the situation we are describing...

Hey @Claire11 - I see you're new to the site, so I'm really glad you asked this question. Posts here in our public discussion forum are NOT private to QB Community - they can be viewed by anyone with an internet connection. Not the place you want to share your personal data! You can send private messages visible only to you and your intended recipient by visiting that community member's profile page and clicking the green "Send a Message" button at the top.
I agree that @Nolan28's situation is one that many of us can relate to, even if we're not all in the same type of business. For example, I'm an independent contractor, and I know how easy it is to take on too many clients - the better to pay the bills! - and suddenly find that I'm overextended, overwhelmed, and unable to deliver the kind of top-notch service that will keep those clients coming back. On the other hand, I don't have to deal with managing staff or paying a lot of overhead like Nolan28 does. For me it's all about managing workflow (and probably raising my rates at some point). How about you? What's the single biggest contributor to your "barely surviving" feeling?
