Hiring Perks for Attracting Part-Time Employees

Hiring demand is at an all-time high, and many job seekers are now looking for more than salary, even as part-time employees. Following the Great Resignation, it is more important than ever to offer benefits and perks. The US Chamber of Commerce has a great article outlining six things applicants may be looking for as you hire for summer and beyond:

Flexible Schedules

Work looks different than it used to.  Offering hybrid work when possible or offering the option to work remotely can offer the work/life balance that attracts the talent you are looking for. For many, remote work isn’t an option. But you can offer shorter workweeks or eliminate fixed schedules for your employees to assist them in working around their lives. Employees enjoy much more freedom in their schedules by focusing on productivity and results within the time worked rather than fixed hours.

Wellness Services

Separate from traditional health insurance offerings, many companies are presenting additional services to boost employees’ total health.  This can be a range of things, from gym memberships to office equipment like standing desks. The idea that health can be supported in the workplace is the bottom line.

Extended Parental Leave

Being a great employee shouldn’t mean you have to miss out on life’s most important moments.  Many workplaces realize that by letting their employees enjoy the time with their newest family members, employees are more productive and can focus on their jobs more effectively.

Professional Development

Employees want to feel like their job is growing them personally and professionally.  By offering career paths instead of jobs, employers are more likely to find the talent they are looking for! Even something as simple as offering mentorships to grow skillsets can be a great perk to benefit your team.

Company Days of Service

Allowing your employees to give back to the community offers many benefits.  It allows a greater sense of purpose and can be a great way for your team to bond outside of the regular workday.

Employee Recognition Programs

A job well done shouldn’t go unnoticed! Rewarding hard work yields great results, and many companies are taking the time to show their employees appreciation for their work.
