Join nowHi all,
I've been tasked to improve some aspects of a small but growing carpark management company. They've been running an old single user QB Pro & I'm looking at Enterprise (self hosted cos internet spotty in their locations), I'm considering Enterprise for its multi user, reporting etc abilities.
What I'm trying to get my head around is how to best model the business into QB, in one sense it is like a rental company that rents many carpark bays in different locations on short terms (hourly & multihourly), but I read that QB doesn't do rental well?
Is there another way I should be looking at it using inventory to get detailed reporting (like no of bays occupied by site at certain times) stock (i..e. parking bays, they call them slots) will be updated each time a car goes in or out.
Sorry for the long question, any help gratefully appreciated :)
Thanks!
hi max2tall ,
I notice there are 2 business models: (i) manage by an operator and share the profit, or self-managed. A rental management app is not suit for your needs. I found some parking management app in the market for both business models but unfortunately none supports QuickBooks yet. You can import the data into QuickBooks by a 3rd party migration tool later.
Hi Fiat & thanks,
yes the company is an operator that shares with the owners of various sites.
There's lots of software that googles up, it all looks expensive though :(
Some of the sites are just vacant lots with a staff member under a shade screen at the entrance, right up to some sites have a booth & entry / exit booms. High end software is out of the question. Which parking management apps were you referring to?
How much your monthly budget for the parking management app and how many parking space do you want to manage?
