1099-NEC form support in QB Desktop for Mac 2020

I am currently running the latest release of QB Desktop for Mac 2020 (QuickBooks 19.0.5.912 R6)

When will the update to support print/e-file of the 1099-NEC forms be available?

1099-NEC form support in QB Desktop for Mac 2020

Hi there, @Lori B.

The option to e-file 1099 is unavailable.  We don't have an exact time on when this will be available on your end, rest assured everyone will receive it on or before December 29th.

As of now, you can export the data you need and go to tax1099.com or choose a service of your choice. Then, you can complete the e-filing from there.

To know more details about 1099, check out this article: Prepare and file 1099s with QuickBooks Desktop Mac.

For your future tasks, here's a helpful article for some directions when you're ready to do the year-end tasks: QuickBooks Desktop Year End Prep and Resources.

I'll be here if you have other questions. Let me know in the comment section. Take care.

Hello there, @Double K Contractors.

Yes, you can print the 1099-NEC form once it becomes available in QuickBooks for Mac 2020. As of now, there is no specific timeline for when it will become available in the program.

However, you can reach out to our customer support so they can check it for you. They can also guide you about the things that you needed to prepare once the form becomes available.

Here's how you can reach out to them:

  1. Go to this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact
  2. Select QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
  3. Choose a topic.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom section and click Start a Message.

In case you need to e-file your 1099-NEC form, you can go to tax1099.com and file it from there.

Let me know how else I can help you with QuickBooks by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to lend a helping hand. Keep safe!
