1099 NEC

I just upgraded my QB for Mac to 2021 and do not see a 1099 NEC Wizzard option. I can set up my accounts correctly, but need to be able to print 250 1099 NEC Forms. Is the update still unavailable? (I have done the most recent update.)

1099 NEC

Hello, GS Tour.

As of this moment, the newly 1099-NEC is not yet available in QuickBooks Desktop for MAC. Our team is working to comply with all the IRS regulations and will update via email as soon as we get notify about this form. However, you can visit directly to the IRS website to fill out the form to get the 1099 data.

For more detailed information about 1099 forms in QBDT and when to file them, you can check out this article: Learn what 1099 forms there are and how you can prepare for the 2020 tax season.

Additionally, you can check this article, which will guide you about when to fill your 1099 form in the IRS: Tax Year 2020 - Instructions for Forms 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC

Please visit again if you have other concerns. We're all right here to help you figure them out. I hope you're good. Take care.

Can you tell me when Quickbooks for Mac will have the capacity to file 1099 NEC?

Great to have you here, CitizenSophie.

The newly 1099-NEC is not yet available in QuickBooks Desktop for MAC. However, you can visit directly to the IRS website to fill out the form to get the 1099 data. Just export all the needed information, then go to tax1099.com. From there, print the forms and complete the filing process. Another option is to go to the Vendors page, then choose 1099s, and select Intuit E-File 1099 Service. Please click this link for more guidance: E-file your 1099s with QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020.

You can also reach out to our customer support so they can check it for you. They can also guide you about the things that you needed to prepare once the form becomes available. Here's how:

  1. Go to this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact
  2. Select QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
  3. Choose a topic.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom section and click Start a Message.

I'm adding these articles for further details about the 1099-NEC FAQs and various updates in QBDT.

I'm just one post away if you need a hand with filling other tax forms in QuickBooks. I'll be here to ensure your success. Have a great day.

1099 NEC

I have used the Intuit 1099 service for the last two years on my Mac Book Pro and it has all worked perfectly. This year I was charged $22.97 by INTUIT PAYROLL on January 22, 2021 at 2:37PM PST and was able to type and print all six of my 1099 NEC's to send to my contractor's. However I was "timed out" before I could approve of Intuit sending the Form 1096 to report the 1099"s to the IRS. I also received a summary from "The Intuit 1099 E-File Service Support Team" on January 25 at 1:41PM EST confirming my VISA charge.

I have been unable to get back into my 1099 account. It keeps suggesting that I change my password which I have done. However, I only get a message that says "You do not have any payroll associated with this account". I have called several times to Intuit and I could not understand one person and two others listened to my problem and just "hung up". I decided to try "Chat" with Intuit, but just got set answers. Finally on the third "Chat" try I got a really nice woman who would hear my story and she took all my information and said she found the charge and my account. She said I need to go to iop.intuit.com/1099login and she would stay on the "Chat". Unfortunately, I lost her, but when I go to iop.intuit.com/1099login and login it just says "you do not have any payroll associated with this account". Now part of the problem in getting into Intuit is it goes through Quickbooks and I do not have a Quickbooks account. I use Quicken and Turbo Tax only. Still need to get into my 1099 account so I can have them send my Form 1096 to the IRS. Can anyone out there help me, please?

Hi Tara56,

Upon reading your post, I'd say that you have gone through a lot to regain access to the 1099 E-file service and in need of immediate help. However, please understand that this is already an account-related issue, and we don't have access to accounts here in the Community. For this reason, I recommend contacting our Support again to get help with this.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

If you have other concerns, please don't hesitate to back to this thread.

Hi JessT,

I can keep trying to get someone to help me at Intuit, but it seems impossible to get any help. I think the problem is that anyone with a MAC could get their 1099's done using Intuit for the past few years. However, this year you have switched this service to QUICKBOOKS DESKTOP FOR MAC and you now say the program is not available this year (2020) for the MAC. Because, I do not have and do not need QUICKBOOKS DESKTOP FOR MAC, as I just have a couple of rental properties  and Quicken Premier and Turbo Tax suit me just fine. So, I'm thinking Intuit let me in with my password from the last two years, then let me type the forms, charged me for the service, but have now locked me out of my account since you say the QUICKBOOKS new program is not ready for MAC users yet. That seems pretty unfair to me as I need to get back in to okay Intuit to send the IRS Form 1096 to the IRS.

I will try to get help again from Intuit support, but trust me, it has really really been hard for me to find anyone to help me.
