I E filed 1099 to all my vendors using the services from QBO.  When they got the link to open the 1099, some were unable to open the link, because the link expired. How do I resend them the link so that they can open it. I do not see the option to do that. Please help.

Re: 1099

Hello, @arpita1

Thanks for dropping by the Community. I'm here to help make sure that your vendors can open the link to view their 1099 forms.

To start off, please have them log into their free services/account on a different or a private browser using this link: Then ask them to bookmark this page to sign in at future times.

Here's how to use a private browser:

  • On their keyboard, press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox or Internet Explorer).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).

Once logged in, inform them to double-check if they can now view their 1099 forms. Just in case, you can also check out this article for further guidance: Invite a contractor to add their own 1099 tax info.

That's it! Please let me know how it goes by leaving a comment on this thread. I'm only a post away should you have any follow-up questions or concerns. Wishing you and your business success.

Re: 1099

Hi my vendors are having the same issue.  The new login page simply does not launch.

Re: 1099

Hi, what if they already have an account with quickbooks- would they need to create a new ID?

Re: 1099

Hi there, @zdamata.

Thanks for joining the Community today. Allow me to share some insights about opening the invitation link for your vendors.

If your vendors are having an existing account, then there is no need for them to create a new one. All they have to do is to sign in using the QBSE login link: They can add this link on your bookmark for their future use.

If you get the same result, I'd suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Team. They have the necessary tools like screen-sharing that can help to further investigate this matter.

To do that:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help at the top right.
  3. Select Contact Us to connect with a live agent.

You can also check out this article about inviting a contractor to add their own 1099 tax info: Invite a contractor to add their own 1099 tax info.

Please let me know how it goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance. Have a great day!

Re: 1099

Thanks, it doesn't work. Can I resend the 1099 to the vendors and change the email address so it doesn't have to be the same as the existing one in QB

Re: 1099

Thank you for the quick response, @zdamata.

I'm here to help you be able to send the 1099 invitation links to your vendors.

To start, you can check and update the email address of your vendors.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Expenses page then Vendors.
  2. Find and select the name of your vendors.
  3. Click Vendor Details.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Update email address as needed.

Then, QuickBooks will recognize if your vendor has already signed up for QuickBooks Self-Employed account. If yes, have them log in and update their 1099 as needed.

If no, here's how you can resend the invitation link:

  1. Go to the Expenses page then Vendors.
  2. Find and select the name of your vendors.
  3. Click Vendor Details.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Remove the numbers on the Business ID No. field.
  6. Go to the Workers page then Contractors.
  7. Find and select the contractor's name.
  8. Click Send Email.

Once done, your vendor can now access the 1099 invitation link.

I've found a handy article you can read to learn more about the steps above: Invite a Contractor to Add their Own 1099 Tax Info.
