To change your payment frequency, go to Edit | Preferences | Sales Tax | Company Preferences, and then choose a different option in the "When do you pay your sales tax?" box: Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually.

.

Thank you for getting back, @heatheroshea. I'm stepping into the thread to share with you how to change your sales tax frequency in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

At this time, you can go through your PST or sales tax item to update the rate or frequency.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QBDT file.
  2. Select Item List from the List menu.
  3. Look for the sales item from the list, right-click and tap on Edit item.
  4. Modify the rate from there.
  5. Hit OK once finished.

To learn more about sales tax setup, you can open this article: Set up sales tax in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you encounter problems while working on your sales taxes in the future, see Resolve common sales tax issues.

Please let me know if you have any other follow-up questions about your sales tax frequency. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good one!

that is good info. did not know about that function

unfortunately there there is no option to change the frequency of reporting/filing

I can get the report in reports. maybe  will just have to do that.

It is in the vendor centre.  Double-click (or right-click then select Edit Vendor) on the vendor you want to change (i.e. Receiver General), then click on the sales tax settings tab.  In there you can change your reporting frequency.
