Change Unemployment tax payment

How do I change the state unemployment in QB online to match what the state site has? In QB online it shows a state UI liability of $986 (with electronic payment not available) - when filing on the states site it had it at $856 (which was paid online through the state). How do I adjust the QB online amount so it will match the amount paid? Thanks!

  1. Go to the (?) Help menu.

Also, I recommend changing your State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) tax rate in your QBO to match it with your state. Doing so will accurately match your next tax payment to what your state has. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Click Payroll Settings.
  3. Select Sate Taxes.
  4. Scroll down to the State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Setup section.
  5. Click Change or Add new rate.
  6. Refer to your notice from your state and enter your new rate.
  7. Enter the Effective Date provided in the notice from your state and click OK.

I got you this article for more details: Enter or change state unemployment insurance (SUI) tax rates.
