1. I have created a custom invoice template(custom-1) using custom form styles and made it as default template, we upload invoices using QBO's apis, after posting data to invoices when I check the line items are exclusive tax, can we make this amount tax inclusive.
If I select some other style(standard) click save and again change the style back to custom-1 and save it, the line items become tax inclusive attached screen shoots below for reference.
2. Does QBO custom template allow us to perform some mathematical operations on fields for example I want to show net amount i.e total amount(total_amount) - total tax applied, currently we are using custom fields to show this by calculating on our end.
Thank you for taking the time to post today.
The invoice template has nothing to do with the inclusivity or exclusivity of taxes on the transaction. It's on the Invoice transaction page itself. You can choose either of these in the Amounts are drop list above the items table. By the way, you need to reselect the items when you switch from one to another to get the right tax calculation.
Speaking of calculation, the template has no calculator functions. Everything happens on the transaction page, and the template will just show the final result.

Hi @JessT , thanks for replying, we have mentioned the amounts to be tax inclusive through API, it also shows that the amounts were tax inclusive from the beginning, but why does the amount in line items change when we save?
I appreciate for getting back to us here in the Community, @gs-trail.
The results of the uploaded invoices will depend on the information coming from the API. We have a separate forum where you can communicate with developers, product experts, and engineers about API-related questions.
I encourage posting this concern to our Intuit Developer Community. They have the tools and resources available to assist with the problem.

@ShiellaGraceA Thank you for replying, I have posted a question in Developer Community Last week but I'm getting any reply is there any way you help with this? also, I would like to ask another question, we have different custom invoice templates, now we made one of those as our default, now I want to set standard as my default template but there is no option to set the master invoice as default, how can I make this possible.
Hello there, gs-trail.
I'm here to ensure you're able to set the master invoice as the default template in QuickBooks. This way, you can select the information you want to display in your sales forms and monitor your transactions.
You'll see the Remove as default option once the customize invoice template is already set as the default. Since there's no option to set the master invoice as the default, it seems that it's already set as one. To verify this, let's go to the Custom form styles page. The term (default) is indicated under the Form Type column.
I've attached screenshots below for your reference.
On the other hand, with regards to your post in the Developer's Community, you'll receive an email notification once there's already a response to it.

When I create an invoice using api, it has an option to choose GlobalTaxCalculation values are [TaxExcluded, TaxInclusive, and NotApplicable]

What I understood is when I choose taxinclusive then line item amounts are inclusive of tax provided
