Do I need to mail 940 if it says filed but instructions say to print it and mail

Welcome to the Community, Carey.

In QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), if the Form 940 status on the Payroll Tax Center page shows Filed, it has already been electronically filed.

There's no need to print and mail it. The Filed status means the form was submitted to the IRS.

You can view the tax form you have e-filed, or we filed for you in the Archived forms and filings.

Here's how:

  1. Hover over the All apps, then go to Payroll and select Payroll taxes.
  2. Choose the Filings tab.
  3. Scroll down until you find the Archived forms and filings.

For further guidance on the tax form, refer to this article:

Feel free to leave a message below if you need any clarification.
