Hi there, @harliequin.
I appreciate the details you've provided to elaborate your concern. I'm here to give the best possible way to create a Sales by ship to state report.
At this time, there's not a way to pull up a specific report that will show the sales with ship to state data. However, I have a workaround that should work for you.
You can use the class and location tracking to group sales for a specific state on a report. Create a class or location for each state and assign them to state where the customer is in whenever you create the sale.
Please note that this is only available in QuickBooks Online Plus subscription and turning on the class tracking or location will be the first step to do.
Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Under Your Company, select Account and Settings.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- In the Categories section, click the edit pencil icon.
- Check the box for Track classes or Track locations to turn on the feature.
- Click the Save button.
- Then, click Done.
Once done, you may start categorizing your sales to get the interstate total for your home state tax return. For a more in-depth insights on this matter, check out this article: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1776444.
Additionally, run the Sales by Customer Detail report that will group the data by class or location.
While this feature isn't available, I encourage you to send feedback directly to our product developer to let them know you'd like this added. QuickBooks Online is a constantly evolving platform and the voice of users, like yourself, helps steer the changes that occur.
Here's how:
- Choose Feedback.
- Enter your request/product suggestion, then click Next.
- Select Feedback as the Category.
- Click Send message.
They add new features based on suggestions from customers like yourself. To reinforce your request, I'll also be sending a product suggestion about your concern.
That should do it! You should be able to get the interstate total for home state tax return with the above workaround. Let me know if you're able to pull up the report and if you have other questions. I'm always here to help. Have a great rest of the week!
