EFTPS - Changed Password Online but NOT in QB - HELP!

Hi! I changed our EFTPS password online last week - but forgot to do so in QB. I already paid our weekly federal withholding payment through QB - which is linked to EFTPS so I can see right away when payment comes through. Since QB does not have our updated password, EFTPS does not have record of the payment being made. How do I solve this? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Re: EFTPS - Changed Password Online but NOT in QB - HELP!

Hello there, OfficeMgr3336.

An incorrect Internet password can be the reason why the EFTPS doesn't have a record of the payment. To correct this, we'll need to void it first so we can update the password.

Here's how:

  1. From the Employees menu, select the Payroll Center.
  2. Go to the Pay Liabilities tab. On the Payment History section, select E-Payments.
  3. Locate and double-click on the payment to cancel/void.
  4. Click the Edit menu and select the Void Liability Check.
  5. Select Save and close.

We can now update your password. You can follow these steps:

  1. On the Pay Liabilities window, click on the View/Pay under the Pay Taxes & Other Liabilities section.
  2. Select the E-payment, and also E-pay.
  3. Uncheck on the Remember My Information for next Time box.
  4. Enter your new PIN and EFTPS Password.
  5. Click Submit.

You're now good to process another EFTPS Payment. For your guide, you can check these helpful articles:

Re: EFTPS - Changed Password Online but NOT in QB - HELP!

Hello there, @Swintdes.

Thanks for performing the steps presented by my peer above (updating the password). There's another factor that we'll need to double-check to verify the reason why your payment has been rejected by the EFTPS.

If you've changed a bank account details this can be the cause of the rejection. Any bank account change must be reported to the EFTPS as they're going to update your profile.

To give you more information on how this works, and how can this be done, please see this link: Change bank account for e-payment of tax liabilities.

On the other hand, if you haven't done any changes, I recommend getting in touch with EFTPS. This way, they can investigate and determine what's causing the issue.

Reach back out to me if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to get them taken care of. Have a wonderful day ahead!

Thanks for answering.

The only change has been the password as required by EFTPS. I will contact them and go from there.
