Error when creating TaxRate in QBO API

When adding TaxAgencys via the QBO API using the PHP SDK, every so often I get the following error "Operation org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 1; columnNumber: 1;  Content is not allowed in prolog. is not supported." but that makes no sense because according to the API Explorer XML is unsupported and even looking at the log a JSON request was sent. Since you can't attach the log files or embed them into the post, I posted them on gist

Since the taxes are the last thing left on the project I am working on I really want to get these done.

Error when creating TaxRate in QBO API

Let's get this sorted out, Shawn Crigger.

I appreciate the log files you've provided. I'd like to check this for you and get it taken care of myself.

However, the Community can provide answers and troubleshooting solutions to certain questions, there are things that only our Intuit Developer can do to resolve the error.

We have a separate forum where you can interact with fellow developers, product experts, and engineers about software, API, or developer license-related questions.

I encourage posting this question to our Intuit Developer Community. They have the tools and resources available to help you validate the log files and assist you with creating a tax rate.

Here's how:

  1. In your browser, enter this link: https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/homepage.
  2. From there, tap the Sign In or Sign Up button to create an account.
  3. Follow the instructions to enter your information.

To help you manage your tax rates in QuickBooks Online, you can read through this article: Set up your sales tax. It contains more details on how to edit the tax agency's name as well as deactivating a tax rate.

Please know that I'm just a post away should you need anything else or if you have any other QuickBooks concerns. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
