How can I get the following Sales Tax Revenue Summary monthly showing taxable sales, Ag exempt, Manufacturing exempt, non-taxable, sales tax permits, State Exempt?

In QB Desktop I could get a monthly report showing taxable and non-taxable sales from taxable sales, Agricultural exempt, Manufacturing exempt, Disabled Vetran, Non-Taxable sales (labor), State Statue exempt (cities, tribes) and holders of sales tax permits, for example. How can I get a report from QB online like this. I have different tax codes for each of these categories assigned to each customer. The State of Oklahoma requires report on all of these types of sales every month not just list of taxable sales for the month.

It's great to have you here, @userjohn1.

Some of the specific details they need aren't available in the said 2 reports. These are Agricultural exempt, Manufacturing exempt, Disabled Veteran, and sales tax permits. You can use the Taxable Sales Detail and customize the report to include the Tax Amount and Taxable Amount.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports on the left panel.
  2. Type Taxable Sales Detail in the search field.
  3. Select the Report period and choose Month from the Group by drop-down menu.
  4. Click the Customize button.
  5. From the Rows/Columns section, put a checkmark on the Tax Amount and Taxable Amount boxes.
  6. Click Run report.

Also, you can run and customize the Sales Tax Liability Report and the Taxable Sales Summary Report to show non-taxable customers and products/services. Check it out:

  1. Go to Reports on the left menu.
  2. Search for Taxable Sales Summary.
  3. Within the report, hit the Customize button.
  4. Click on the arrow next to Filter to expand it, then tick Customer Taxable or Product/Service.
  5. From the drop-down next to each, choose Non-Taxable.
  6. Hit Run report.

Once you have the details you need, you can export all reports to Excel to manually add the missing information. You can check out this link for more information about exporting, printing, and emailing reports in your QBO account.

Let me know if this works for you. I'm here to ensure your continued success. Have a great day!
