Re: how do I change the 6% sales tax in my invoices to 7%

Hi Captpete33!

You've come to the right place! Let's change the rate of your sales tax on your invoices.

First, you'll want to update the rate of the tax item in your item list.

  1. From the Lists menu, choose Item List.
  2. Right-click on the sales tax item you used on your invoices and choose Edit Item.
  3. Change the tax rate from 6% to 7%.
  4. Click OK.

Second, the change of rate isn't retroactive, so you'll have to go through each invoice, then toggle the TAX item. This means you'll choose a different tax item and then select the original tax item again to reflect the updated rate. You'll do to all invoices that you need to show the 7% rate.

Please note that this will change the amount of your invoices. Thus, if you've already given copies to your clients, I'd suggest giving them the updated one. Also, you may want to consult your accountant to ask for an advise about your changes.
