Join nowAs manager of my LLC i am exempt from WC insurance in WA State. How do I record that status in payroll on QB online?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I've got you covered, cjseymour01.
I've got just the steps you'll need to claim the exempt status in QuickBooks Online.
To clarify, are you referring to the WA SUI and Employment Administrative Fund or the Washington's workers' comp info? The following steps will guide you on how to record them exempt for either one of them:
To record the exempt for WA SUI and Employment Administrative Fund
To record the exempt for Workers' comp
That should do it. With these resources, you'll be all set and ready to go in not ime. For future reference, you can always check out our guide on how to enter employee payroll tax exemptions..
I hope this response finds you with a smile. Keep in touch if you need more help with your payroll taxes. I always have your back and am always happy to help. Thanks for coming to the Community, wishing you and your business all the best!

I have the same issue in NY State, but I don't see the options described in this chain when I go in to edit my employee information?
Hello BF24,
The worker's compensation option to the NY is not supported in QuickBooks Online. The steps on this thread are intended for Washington only. You can use this link for reference: Washington workers' compensation setup and calculations.
Instead of having this option directly in QuickBooks Online, we have a third-party application that can help you calculate for New York Worker's Compensation. You can visit these links to learn more:
We'll be right here if you have additional questions. Have a great day!
Thank you - I will keep digging, but Quickbooks is preventing me from running payroll until the WorkersComp has been addressed. Pretty frustrating, given this, that NY is not supported!
