How do I record a sales tax payment for a sales tax period that is no longer available to view in Taxes menu?

You're on the right track, @rosegold1.

 

Yes, you can create a check transaction to record the sales tax payments you've made. I can guide you in doing so.

  1. Go to + New.
  2. Choose Check.
  3. From the Category column, choose California Department of Tax and Fee Administration Payable.
  4. Enter the Tax Payments details. 
  5. Click the Save and Close button.

Is it possible to post a check that includes the payment amount from my bank to the CDTFA sales tax liability account?
