How do I record SST Payable from previous year in QBO if the company had not setup sales & service tax in QBO during the past tax year

How do i import or record Sales and Services Tax from last year if this company has no SST Payable from previous year recorded in Quickbooks Online as they only start using QBO this year. I tried to record it in Expense and an error has occur when i select the GL account ' Curernt Liabilities: SST Payable' . Is there any other way to record it in Quickbooks Online.

We have two options to record the calculated sales before you have turned on the Sales Tax Center in QuickBooks Online. We can either enter an adjustment when paying the current sales tax, or create a transaction.

 

For the first option which is to enter an adjustment when paying a sales tax, you visit this link and go to the Adjust a sales tax payment section for reference: Manage sales tax payments in QuickBooks Online.

 

For the second option, here are the things we'll need to do:

  1. Create a liability account.
  2. Create a sales tax item.
  3. Use the item on sales transaction.
  4. Pay the sales tax through Check.
