How to resend 1099 email to my contractor?

Hello,

One of my contractors did not received their 1099 via email. How do I resend it?

Under 1099s -> Completed forms, the "recipient's copy" is "mailed" and the "status" is "accepted".

I do not see any option to resend the 1099 via email. How can I do this?

Thanks.

How to resend 1099 email to my contractor?

Hi there, @ibaker1.

To begin with, I suggest verifying that your contractor’s email address is accurate and ask them to check their spam or junk folder to see if they received the email for the 1099. If they still haven’t received it, please note that the option to resend the 1099 via email is unavailable.

As an alternative, I recommend downloading the contractor’s 1099 form and sending it manually. You can also download the 1099 PDFs through the contractor’s account under Incoming Forms.

If you already e-filed your 1099 forms using the QuickBooks 1099 E-file service, you can download a PDF copy for your records or print and mail it to your contractor. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Navigate to the Taxes menu and select 1099 filings.
  3. In the list of filings, select View 1099 next to the relevant tax year and form type to open a PDF copy.
  4. Once the PDF opens in your browser, you can use the browser's or PDF viewer's download icon to save it to your computer.
