Buy nowHi Ann,
Thanks for stopping by the Community for some help with your 1099s. I know those tax corrections can be a bit tricky, so let’s take a look at what’s happening and get you back on track.
To help you further, could you clarify what’s preventing you from making corrections to your 1099 submission? Are you encountering any specific error messages or technical issues? Additionally, any screenshots you can share showing the problem would be greatly appreciated, as they’ll help us better understand the situation.
It’s worth noting that before correcting a filed 1099, QuickBooks Online won’t allow changes until the original submission is officially marked as Accepted by the IRS.
To check this, head to 1099 filings and look at the Filing Status column. If the status shows “Submitted,” “Processing,” or “In Agency,” the Correct button won’t be functional yet. You’ll typically need to wait 24 to 48 hours for the status to update to Accepted before QuickBooks unlocks the correction workflow.
I’ve also included a helpful guide on how to track your e-filing status for future reference: Check your payroll tax payments or filing status.
Once the status changes, you’ll be able to proceed with corrections directly in QuickBooks Online. However, if you are still having difficulty correcting the forms or facing ongoing issues, I suggest contacting our Live Support team for personalized assistance. They can provide a hands-on look at your account. Be sure to check their support hours for the best time to connect.
Correcting these forms is a standard part of the process, and we'll make sure you get it sorted out. If you have any trouble zeroing out those amounts once the filing is accepted, just let us know.
Hi Ann,
I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Did the solution we shared fix the issue for you, or are you still experiencing some difficulties?
I'm happy to help further if you need any more assistance!
