The new sales tax center does not work for us. It is charging taxes on services like delivery and this should not be. I is also charging taxes based on Patients addresses and this should not be, it should charge based on our company’s location. The new system also does not allow us to enter the monthly commission the State pays us that allow for a reduction of the amount we pay each month. We also do not have a way nor the means to pay taxes to many different counties in the state. The old system has worked for us fo 15 years WE HAVE TO HAVE IT BACK, YOU CANNOT MANIPULATE US INTO THIS NEW PIECE OF GARBAGE.
Let me help you find a way to get you back to the old sales tax center, @ssilva2695.
You have the option to switch back to manual method of sales tax if you're just migrated to it.
Let me provide you these steps on how you can revert back to manual sales tax:
You can also reach out to our QuickBooks Support Team. They can help you switch back to the manual sales tax tracking. Here's how:

I agree! I cannot use the new sales tax center layout, please change back to the old one!!! The old one showed each city/county that had tax owed and also had tax payments listed below that. It was all viewable at-a-glance and easy to manage. This new layout is horrible! It's not even showing my taxes due and all screwed up. I spoke with customer service today for about an hour and a half, and go nowhere! There was an option to switch back, so I know it can be done - but now it's gone. Someone on the back end can change this back and I'm asking that it be done as soon as possible. I need to keep my work flowing smoothly and do not have time to keep finding or fixing things!
Thank you for your feedback about the new sales tax center, Luvsaffire55.
We've already removed the option to go back to the old sales tax interface since we're now transitioning to automated sales tax. Please check out the automated sales tax overview for more information.
With regards to getting your tax amounts per county or city, you can simply click the down arrow next to Reports and choose Tax Liability report.
Let me know if you need anything else.
What about tax payments, where do I find those?
And my new tax center isn't really showing me anything. It should have a running total of sales and sales tax owed to date. I'm posting a screenshot of what I see... pretty much nothing! My 2019 is showing overdue, but that has been completed. And 2020 just says "upcoming" - when is it upcoming? At the end of the year when I have to scramble to make sure it's all correct? Someone just upgraded me to Quickbooks Advanced, so I could have Experts to speak to, yet when I was on the phone with them yesterday - we resorted to Google to try to figure this out... to no avail.
Hey there, @Luvsaffire55.
Thanks for following the thread.
To clarify, how did you pay the 2019 taxes? If you successfully recorded the tax payment in QuickBooks, this should not be showing as past due. You can follow the below to review your prior tax payments.
1. Open the Taxes menu.
2. Select History in the upper-right corner.
However, if you don't see your prior payments here, I recommend clearing your browser's cache. Web browsers collect cache to save time when loading repetitive data and images. These files can often become outdated and corrupted, causing issues like the one with your prior payments missing. I've included the links to all supported browsers that contain the steps to clearing the cache below.
Additionally, I'm including a couple of articles that go over sales tax. This way, you can become more familiarized and be a pro before you know it.
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your response. Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. You can reach out to the Community at any time. Take care!
Hello there, @Luvsaffire55.
Since the issue persists after clearing your browser's cache, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Support Team. They have the tools to check your account securely and help you work with your new sales tax smoothly.
Please check our support hours to ensure that we address your concerns on time: Support hours and types.
I've also added this article about adding sales tax categories: Add sales tax categories to your products and services. It can help you map your items to the right tax categories.
Don't hesitate to drop a comment below if you have other questions. I'm more than happy to help. Take care!
