Join nowI am trying to submit the payment for the UI 340-keeps getting rejected. Says the account number is wrong but it is correct. The UI 340 was submitted and accepted-the account number are same on both. Anyone else having this problem?
I'm here to ensure you can submit the payment for the UI 340, @TerriMon.
Rejected payment with an error message that says the account number is incorrect, this means either your Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) or state account numbers are incorrect in QuickBooks and don’t match what the agencies have on file for your business.
Let's make sure your QuickBooks and your payroll tax table are updated to their latest release to stay compliant with paycheck calculations.
Then proceed to the steps below to fix issues about invalid or incorrect Account numbers:

Keep me posted if you need further help to manage your IL Suta Payment for the 1st Quarter of 2022. I'll be happy to help you. Stay safe, and have a good day!
Good Morning, I have contacted the IL State Unemployment office. I am using the corrected SUTA account number and FEIN. I was on the phone on Friday for 2 hours will QB help. They said to contact IDES-that this was their issue. One of my clients is having the same issue. She has also verified the suta account number and FEIN. Has anyone else in IL had this issue?
Terri
Had the exact same issue today. Help please Intuit!
In QB my 7 digit UI number was followed by a -9. Has been this way for 15+ years. I removed the -9 and my payment was "processed successfully by the agency". Might check this and see if it works. To check this go to Employees>Payroll Setup>Taxes>Schedule Payments then go to IL Taxes. Hope this helps.
I've had this issue with multiple clients.
Quickbooks, please respond!
Still no resolution to this? It happened again today. It isn't the numbers, they are correct.

Was anyone able to get resolution on this? We have the same issue.
Hi - I've had this same issue where my Q1 contribution report was rejected multiple times due to 'invalid UI Account number'. I reached out to IDES and had my issue escalated to the IDES Liaison, who contacted their software dev team to discuss the issue. Despite the Quickbooks' rejection message continuously saying the IL Agency had rejected the submittal, IDES showed they had never received the submittals - pinning the issue on the transmittal between Intuit and IDES. IDES then found that Quickbooks hasn't updated the form format, which is causing the rejection and they have also alerted their Quickbooks Liaisons to contact Intuit so hopefully this issue is resolved before Q2. Below is the email response I received from IDES's Liaison:
I have heard something. This is not an isolated issue with your software, apparently there have been other reports of the Quickbooks program rejecting Illinois UI payments.
The issue seems to be that Intuit (the maker of Quickbooks) has not updated their file format to match our systems. We have certain protocols related to what are known as FSET payments, which stands for Federal State Employment Taxes. The implementation guidelines specify a particular "schema" that companies must use to transmit electronic payments through the FSET gateway. IDOR uses the same system. When you use the Quickbooks program you are transmitting an FSET payment encoded with a particular type of schema, or format. From time to time that schema is updated and companies must update their software to make sure payments are accepted.
I have sent inquiries to our Revenue division to see whether anyone has heard from Quickbooks and what their response to the incongruity between their files and our system is. While I believe it is due to the above issue and it is Intuit's responsibility to adapt, I want to get confirmation from that company to ensure that is the case. I hope to hear back from them by early next week. When I do, I will update you as soon as possible.
All three quarterly installments for UI 3/40 have been rejected multiple times. After contacting the state, they confirm the account number is incorrect. It begins with a zero and it must be displayed on the form. I went in to change the account number & add the zero, but when I place a zero at the beginning of the number the form in Quickbooks drops that last digit. Payments are going through with no problem. I have filed online on the Illinois MyTax.illinois.gove, but the problem still needs to be fixed. Did I miss an update? This number worked until the first Q of 2022. Did Quickbooks or State of Illinois format change??
It is not the payment. It is the quarterly filing that is being rejected. And I can ensure they are being rejected.
