I am using QBO, and had sales tax on the manual setting. We were forced to update the Sales Tax area of QBO, and now it is automatic, and giving weird information. Using the manual system, my reports were easily understood. Now they are confusing, with half of my sales tax under new grouping, half under the old groupings.

Any way to go back to the manual sales tax?

Hi, @TaylorHeating.

Tracking sales tax is easier using the new automated sales tax feature. This may look different compared to the manual sales tax center.

Once you've already set this up in QuickBooks, there isn't a way to switch back to the old sales tax.

Rest assured that there are available reports you can pull up to view your sales tax information.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Scroll down the page to the Sales Tax category.
  3. Select the Sales Tax Liability ReportTaxable Sales Detail, or Taxable Sales Summary.

If you’re planning to file your sales tax return and record your tax payment, you can read this article: File and pay your sales tax return in QuickBooks Online.
