On 1/24/25, my Q4 2024 estimated tax was withdrawn from my checking account. However, in QB Self-Employed, it's being shown as a Q1,Q2 2025 payment, which is not accurate

How do I make the program understand the tax payment was for the previous year.

Hi there, ajmille.

Let's start by reviewing your transactions for that month to ensure they are categorized correctly. It might have been mistakenly linked to the wrong date, causing it to appear as a 2025 payment. Allow me to guide you through the steps to categorize it correctly.

There are two types of recategorizing your transactions in QBSE. If you're using a web browser, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Find the transaction you want to edit.
  3. Select the ▼ icon to expand the transaction.
  4. Edit the transaction name, add notes, or attach a receipt.
  5. To change the category, select the link in the Type or Category column.
  6. Then, select a new category.
  7. Once done, select Save.

If you're using a phone (iOS or Android) or Tablet, kindly follow these steps:

  1. If you're on an iOS device, go to the Transactions menu. If you're on an Android device, select the menu ☰ icon and then Transactions.
  2. Click the Reviewed tab.
  3. Select the transaction you want to edit.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Change the details or category.
  6. Once done, select Save.
