paid sui tax early and now can't issue paychecks

Hello, thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Trying to issue our company paychecks by 5/1 and discovered that the sui tax was accidentally paid too early and now getting the error message:

You cannot create a check for xx on 05/01/2020 because you have already made state tax payments for the quarter. Please enter a check date in the next quarter.

The sui tax has already been sent and received by the state so I can't adjust.

Can't get through to the support team.

Anyone know how to make a manual adjustment so I can get the paychecks out on time? Thanks

paid sui tax early and now can't issue paychecks

Hi there, @inaflurry.

Thanks for visiting the Community today. I understand the urgency to have your payroll tax-adjusted so you can continue creating paychecks for your employees.

In compliance with the IRS and the states, QuickBooks doesn't have an option to edit the payroll tax liability manually. You'll have to contact our Customer Care Support to do the manual adjustments.

You can request a Callback through your QuickBooks account, or initiate a chat session directly with our Online Payroll Chat Support team. Please know that we have limited support and reduced our support hours to 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM PT weekdays only due to the Pandemic season.

For future reference, here's an article that can help you get around about payroll-related tasks: Employees and Payroll Taxes.

Let me know if you additional questions. I'll be around to help. Stay safe.
